Chalk

A Tutor With Infinite Patience.

Say or type what you want to learn. Chalk researches it from trusted sources, explains it out loud, draws it on the board, then practises it with you — hints only, never answers.

The whole lesson works by voice, in both directions
Say “slower” or “again” — for the tenth time, without a sigh
One tap switches to a dyslexia-friendly display
Ask for the answer and it will politely refuse

Watch it teach. That’s the whole pitch.

Say what you want to learn. Chalk looks it up from sources you can check, talks you through it, draws it on the board as it goes, then practises it with you — giving hints and never the answer.

Question 1 of 3

In a right triangle, the two short sides are 3 and 4. How long is the longest side?

Saying

Picture building a square on each of the three sides.

The two smaller squares add up to the big one.

Let me draw it for you. I’ll go slowly, one bit at a time.

HOLD Your turn Say it, or type it

A real lesson, drawing itself. Nothing here is a mock-up of a feature that doesn’t exist yet.

It looks it up

Only from a short list of trusted education sites, and it shows you which ones it used.

It explains and draws

Out loud, with every word on screen, sketching as it talks — the way a teacher works at a board.

It won’t hand over answers

Ask outright and it politely refuses, then coaches you to it. That rule is in the software, not the good intentions.

why-we-built-this.txt

One-to-one teaching is the thing that works, and it is the thing almost nobody can get. Parents can’t always help with GCSE maths. Schools can’t staff a tutor per child. And for the 1.7 million pupils in England with special educational needs, most tools make it worse — walls of text, one fixed pace, no patience.

Chatbots didn’t fix it either. They hand over the answer, which is copying with extra steps.

So we built a tutor that performs teaching instead of dispensing answers, and made every decision from the accessibility end first. It’s early. Try a real lesson and tell us what to build next.

We’re Looking For Pilot Learners

No testimonials yet. That’s the honest bit.

We’d rather have a small number of learners, tutors and SEND parent groups running real lessons and telling us what’s wrong. Taking part is free, and what you tell us decides what gets built.
